We are not taking sleeping in a bed for granted.
In December, The Rotary Club of Antioch was one of three local organizations worked collectively to provide eight sets of beds to families in need in Lake County:
- The Antioch Fire Department - lead by Fire Chief Jon Cokefair - supplied frames, headboards, mattresses and box spring.
- The Rotary Club of Antioch - lead by Matt Tabar - provided linens
- The Penny's Purpose - lead by April Andrews - provided blankets.
Volunteers from the Fire Department and Rotary were able to deliver and set up for families in Lake Villa, Waukegan, and Highwood. The delight on the faces of the children was a wonderful experience for those involved.
This is yet another example of community teamwork and how donations received are used to support local families. Donations can be accepted at any time and via our website.
