Yet, again our club members take extra steps to make a difference.  This year, as part of our own social gathering, we asked the Rotarians attending to consider bringing a new pair of socks or gloves for us to donate.

Thank you for your support for the 2025 Rotary Club of Antioch Pork Chop Dinner & Auction.  With your help we reached our club goals.  Proceeds to the Antioch Rotary Foundation, Inc allow for another year of awarding D117 graduates college scholarships and technical trade grants, helping local families in need with holiday food baskets (equal to about 1800 meals) and buying beds for kids (about 2-3% of children do not have a bed of their own).  We also do more than these four main projects in our local communities of Antioch, Lake Villa, and Lindenhurst and in our global community.

Recent volunteering at Open Arms Mission food pantry observed a shortage of bread. 

Rotarian sent email to club.  Asked us to "please bring a loaf of bread to the club meeting tomorrow".

And we acted. 

 

About 25 loafs of bread, hot dog or hamburger bun packages - and fresh fruit and vegetables were collected. 

Wow - thank you Rotary Club of Antioch! 

 

Simple as that- observe, initiate, ask, and act.

$2000 check was presented this week.

We beat the heat while cleaning the street!

 

  

 

The Rotary Club of Antioch tackled Grass Lake Road between Route 83 and Route 59 Saturday morning. 
 

Strangest (PG rated) item was a golf ball.  We can only imagine that mighty drive from nearby Valley Ridge Golf course and it bouncing along the street. 

The most typical trash item we picked up were cigarette butts. Over 4.5 trillion individual butts pollute our global environment. Learn more about their decade long impact at  http://Earthday.org

Congratulations to our winners of the two items the Rotary Club of Antioch raffled off during the Antioch Wizard Weekend Day events. 

 

  

#187 won the set of Harry Potter Goblets and # 165 won the Universal Epic Universe Phoenix Wand.

Antioch Wizard Weekend DAY on June 14th is approaching fast.  Visit the Rotary booth in Diagon Alley at the United Methodist Church. 

 

This fundraiser includes raffling off a set of Harry Potter Goblets and selling homemade wizard crafts and scarves.

The Rotary Club of Antioch supports educational programs. Today we donated $500 to SkillsUSA in which local High School students compete to exhibit their knowledge and practical understanding of a variety of Technical Trade professions such as baking, welding, carpentry, and cosmetology. 

 

Fifteen students from District 117 Antioch and Lakes Community High Schools participated in the Illinois State competition this year.  Two students will be going to the National competition for EMS (Emergency Medical Services) in Atlanta this June. 

 

These competitions help build comradery and confidence in the students as they prepare to embark in their careers. 

 

 

  

 

We are pleased to announce community partnership with State Bank of the Lakes. 

 

Tricia Barnett, Assistance Branch Manager at the Antioch location is welcomed by her sponsor Roger Sorensen and Club President Terry Dunleavy.

 

Corporate membership allows alternating representation at Club meetings.   Tricia has been employed by SBOL for 16 years and is a local resident since 2000.  She is knowledgeable about the Antioch community and is a Antioch Chamber member.

We are pleased to announce yet another new member to the Rotary Club of Antioch - Ray Mullen.

 

Ray is also an active volunteer at the Mathias Academy in Wisconsin which provides adult day program serving adults with mild to severe disabilities, providing specialized medical needs from Illinois & Wisconsin.

 

We are not taking sleeping in a bed for granted.    

 

 

In December, The Rotary Club of Antioch was one of three local organizations worked collectively to provide eight sets of beds to families in need in Lake County...

The Rotary Club of Antioch supports a variety of organization in the local communities.  This past weekend, we were able to thank Boy Scout Troop 92 for their assistance during our Annual Pork Chop Dinner & Auction.  The Rotary Club of Antioch donated $500 towards their efforts to provide development and leadership skills to our youth through the scouting programs, earning badges, and camping.  Pictured is a closeup of the contribution during their annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser and another with more of the troop leaders and scouts.   If you missed the event(s) mentioned this year - mark your calendars for next year.  Two great ways to have a meal and contribute to the programs.

We brewed up a spell for Harry Potter Goblet Set Raffle at the Antioch Chamber of Commerce WIZARDS WEEKEND on June 15th. 

 

 

    
 

 

When the weather starts to get cold, and the holiday season is upon us, the Rotary Club of Antioch realize not all are able to provide a traditional holiday meal to their families.  

 

About 75 "baskets" of groceries were filled and delivered for Thanksgiving.  This will be repeated for Christmas and help during the winter school break. 

ROTARIANS:  Put your woolies on and join us of the deliveries on Sunday December 17th 9am (behind Piggly Wiggly).   Rotary friends welcome to participate in this giving.

 

 

You did it again!   Proceeds from our local community support, donations, dinner guests, and auction bidders went towards the Antioch Rotary Scholarship, Inc.  These funds fuel students continuing education at universities or in the trades.  

 

CONSIDER BECOMING A ROTARIAN.  We are looking for new members to help with community programs - please consider joining us for a meeting to learn more.

Our Annual fundraiser is now a few weeks away.

Get in the game!  Join us  on April 1st for the NCAA Men's basketball final four at Rivalry Alehouse in Antioch IL.  The fun starts at 5pm.
